This week there were some showers in the Canadian forecast, however there now is little hope of any significant improvement to the wheat crop. Most all-wheat production estimates for Canada, indeed, have been lowered to 20 from 25 million mt. Durum wheat production in Canada also has clearly been impacted by the dryness and heat.

Morocco ‘s state grains agency ONICL has issued a tender to import around 363,000 tonnes of U.S.- origin durum wheat under a preferential tariff import quota. The deadline for submission of offers in the tender is August 24. The tender calls for shipments to arrive at Moroccan ports by December 31.
