US WHEAT EXPORT SALES
According to the US Department of Agriculture, for the period Jan.15-21, 2021 about wheat net sales of 380,500 metric tons (MT) for 20/21 were up 15% from the previous week and 13% from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for China (130,000MT, including 65,000MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (67,400MT, including decreases of 100MT), Japan (60,600MT, including decreases of 500 MT), southkorea (54,100MT, including 50,000MT), and the Philippines (53,400MT, including decreases of 1,700MT), were offset by reductions primarily for unknown destinations (117,000MT). For 21/22, net sales of 216,000MT were reported for Nigeria (138,000MT), Mexico (60,000MT), and unknown destinations (18,000MT). Exports of 505,800MT were up 92% from the previous week and 37% from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Japan (113,000MT), Mexico (85,000MT), Indonesia (57,500MT), the Philippines (57,400 MT), and srilanka (52,400MT).
