US Weekly Export Sales Report

WASHINGTON – March 31, 2022

According to the US Department of Agriculture, wheat export sales for the period March 18-24, 2022 were at 95,000 metric tons (MT) for 2021/22 season.

That was down 39% from the previous week and 58% from the prior 4-week average.

Increases primarily for South Korea (45,000MT), Mexico (30,500MT, including decreases of 1,200MT), Guatemala (29,800MT switched from unkn. destin.), Colombia (27,000MT, including 25,000MT switched from unkn. destin.) and El Salvador (18,800MT switched from unkn. destin.), were offset by reductions primarily for unkn. destin. (60,800MT) and Nigeria (15,900MT).

Net sales of 81,300 MT for 2022/23 were reported for Mexico (32,000MT), Colombia (31,300MT), Nigeria (13,000MT) and Peru (5,000MT).

Exports of 349,200 MT were down 5% from the previous week, but up 2% from the prior 4-week average.

The destinations were primarily to Mexico (113,600MT), Japan (83,100MT), the Philippines (65,500MT), Colombia (44,600MT) and Nigeria (33,100MT).

As for corn, net sales of 636,900 MT for 2021/22 were down 35% from the previous week and 53% from the prior 4-week average.

Increases primarily for Japan (217,800MT, including 125,000MT switched from unkn. destin. and decreases of 7,600MT), Colombia (103,800MT, including 41,000MT switched from unkn. destin. and decreases of 20,100MT), Mexico (86,600MT, including decreases of 116,600MT), Vietnam (69,300MT, including 68,000MT switched from unkn. destin.) and Taiwan (66,000MT switched from unkn. destin.), were offset by reductions primarily for unkn. destin. (74,300MT), Lebanon (50,000MT) and China (18,400MT).

Net sales of 286,800 MT for 2022/23 were reported for unknown destinations (254,800MT), Mexico (30,000MT) and Honduras (2,000MT).

Exports of 1,882,400 MT were up 26% from the previous week and 24% from the prior 4-week average.

The destinations were primarily to China (457,600MT), Japan (432,200MT), Mexico (335,200MT), Colombia (170,800MT) and Canada (96,800 MT). 

As for soybeans, net sales of 1,305,800 MT for 2021/22 were up noticeably from the previous week and up 11% from the prior 4-week average. 

Increases were primarily for China (593,200MT, including 121,000MT switched from unkn. destin. and decreases of 3,600MT), unkn. destin. (520,700MT), the Netherlands (56,000MT, including 60,000MT switched from unkn. destin. and decreases of 4,000MT), Japan (55,600MT, including decreases of 2,100MT) and Taiwan (32,400MT, including decreases of 100MT).

Total net sales of 54,000 MT for 2022/23 were for Mexico.

Exports of 670,200MT were up 22% from the previous week but down 6% from the prior 4-week average.

The destinations were primarily to China (331,900MT), Vietnam (65,600MT), Mexico (63,300MT), Egypt (57,100MT) and the Netherlands (56,000MT).
