US Weekly Export Sales Report

WASHINGTON – May 19, 2022

Per latest data from the US Department of Agriculture, wheat export sales for the period May 6-12, 2022 and delivery in 2021/22 MY were at 8,500 metric tons.

That was a mk-year low, down 40% from the previous week and 82% from the prior 4-week average.

Increases primarily for Mexico (37,000MT, including decreases of 400MT), Venezuela (29,400MT, including 30,400MT switched from unk. dest. and decreases of 1,000MT), Nigeria (28,200MT), Taiwan (2,500MT) and Vietnam (2,000MT), were offset by reductions primarily for Colombia (39,900MT), unk. dest. (27,300MT) and South Korea (25,500MT).

Net sales of 325,600 MT for 2022/23 were primarily reported for Japan (87,600MT), Vietnam (53,400MT), Colombia (45,000MT), unk. dest. (35,500MT) and Mexico (33,500 MT).

Exports of 345,400 MT were up 44% from the prev. week and 1% from the prior 4-week average.

The dest. were primarily to Nigeria (75,200MT), Mexico (60,900MT), Thailand (52,900MT), Taiwan (52,500MT) and Venezuela (29,400MT). 

As for corn, net sales of 435,300 MT for 2021/22 were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 36% from the prior 4-week average.

Increases primarily for Taiwan (64,900MT, including decreases of 100MT), South Korea (59,500MT, including decreases of 8,400MT), China (59,300MT, including decreases of 8,700MT), Guatemala (49,500MT) and Canada (40,000MT, including decreases of 10,900MT), were offset by reductions for unk. dest. (24,700MT), Colombia (7,300MT), Japan (6,500MT) and Panama (1,000MT).

Net sales of 588,500 MT for 2022/23 resulting in increases for China (544,000MT), Mexico (52,500MT), Japan (50,000MT) and CostaRica (13,700MT), were offset by reduc. primarily for Guatemala (46,700MT) and ElSalvador (21,100MT).

Exports of 1,380,100 MT were down 8% from the prev. week and 11% from the prior 4-week average.

The destinations were primarily to Mexico (366,100MT), South Korea (259,800MT), Colombia (205,400MT), China (195,300MT) and Japan (97,500MT). 

As for soybeans, net sales of 752,700 MT for 2021/22 were up noticeably from the previous week and 65% from the prior 4-week average.

Increases for China (392,600MT, incl. 57,000 MT switched from unk. dest. and 72,600MT – late), the Netherlands (84,600MT, including 78,000MT switched from unk. dest.), Egypt (58,300MT, including 55,000MT switched from unk. dest. and decreases of 5,800MT), Taiwan (55,500MT, including decr. of 13,700MT) and Bangladesh (55,000MT), were offset by red.for unk. dest. (110,800MT).

Net sales of 149,500 MT for 2022/23 were reported for unk. dest. (113,500MT), Taiwan (16,000MT), Mexico (12,000MT) and China (8,000MT).

Exports of 957,200 MT were up noticeably from the prev. week and 45% from the prior 4-week average.

The destinations were primarily to Egypt (271,300MT), China (230,800MT, including 72,600MT – late), Mexico (141,500MT), Indonesia (88,200MT) and the Netherlands (84,600MT).
