WASHINGTON – January 21, 2022

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, wheat export sales for the period Jan 7- 13, 2022 were at 380,600 metric tons (MT).
That was up 44% from the previous week and 62% from the prior 4-week average. 
Increases primarily for Nigeria (101,300MT, including 30,000MT switched from unkn. destin. and decreases of 2,700MT), Guatemala (66,600MT, including 11,900 switched from unkn. & decreases of 800MT), Japan (56,100MT), Thailand (51,000MT), & Mexico (35,500MT, including decreases of 11,600MT), were offset by reductions primarily for unkn. destin. (51,800MT). Net sales of 72,000MT for 2022/23 were for Thailand (54,500MT), unkn. destin. (10,000 MT)& Peru (7,500MT). Exports of 391,400MT were up 52% from the previous week and 57% from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Mexico (99,400MT), Vietnam (69,400MT), the Philippines (58,400MT), Brazil (45,700MT)& Guatemala (33,800MT). 
As for corn, net sales of 1,091,300 MT for 2021/22 were up noticeably from the previous week and up 48% from the prior 4-week average. 
Increases primarily for Japan (370,900MT, including 60,000MT switched from unkn. destin., decreases of 6,800MT & 500 MT– late), Mexico (246,100MT, including decreases of 54,000MT), Colombia (86,700MT, including 30,000MT switched from unkn. destin. & decreases of 2,600MT), SaudiArabia (81,300MT, including 77,000MT switched from unkn. destin.) & China (76,900MT, including 68,000MT switched from unkn. destin.), were offset by reductions for Peru (1,000MT). Net sales of 105,000 MT for 2022/23 were for Mexico (55,000MT) & Japan (50,000MT). Exports of 1,297,700 MT -a marketing year high- were up 28% from the previous week and 29% from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to China (349,300MT), Mexico (321,900MT), Japan (214,500MT, including 500MT –late), Colombia (131,700MT) & Saudi Arabia (81,300MT).
As for soybeans, net sales of 671,000 MT for 2021/22 were down 9% from the previous week, but up 12% from the prior 4-week average. 
Increases primarily for China (797,000MT, including 661,500MT switched from unkn. destin. and decreases of 3,300MT), Mexico (353,700MT, including 47,500MT switched from unkn. destin. & decreases of 3,100MT), Spain (137,600MT, including 131,000MT switched from unkn. destin.), Indonesia (62,300MT) & Japan (57,100MT, including 55,000MT switched from unkn. destin.), were offset by reductions for unkn. destin. (984,200MT). Net sales of 528,000 MT for 2022/23 were for China (462,000MT) and unkn. destin. (66,000MT). Exports of 1,804,600 MT were up 77% from the previous week and 15% from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (1,251,300MT), Mexico (148,800MT), Spain (137,600MT), South Korea (56,600MT) & the United Kingdom (56,000MT).
