RUSSIAN WHEAT EXPORT PRICES DOWN

MOSCOW, Jan 25, 2021

Russian wheat export prices fell last week.

Russian wheat with 12.5% protein loading from Black Sea ports for supply before mid-February was at $296 a tonne free on board (FOB) at the end of last week, down $2 from the previous week, the Moscow agriculture consultancy said in a note.

The numerous attempts to elevate it over $300 failed maybe to buyers’ resistance.

According to Refinitiv, wheat prices fell by $5 to $295 a tonne.

In the meantime, Soviet Ag, , said barley prices rose by $7 to $238 a tonne.

Russian regions producing winter wheat had another week of good precipitation last week, according to the Soviet Ag report, adding that the lack of moisture in the previous few months had been almost fully offset.

Temperatures in some of the regions are expected to be abnormally high within the next two weeks, raising risks of the plant damage in the event of a cold snap in late February or early March.

So, prices at the end of the week changed from the last week:

earlier – Domestic 3rd 15,750 roubles/t +200 rbls class wheat, ($210) European part of Russia, excludes delivery (Soviet Ag) – Sunflower seeds 37,475 rbls/t +2,300 rbls (Soviet Ag) – Domestic 89,675 rbls/t +2,000 rbls sunflower oil (Soviet Ag) – export $1,235/t -$25 sunflower oil (Soviet Ag) – export $1,250/t -$10 sunflower oil (Russian Ag) – Soybeans 39,500 rbls/t +800 rbls (Soviet Ag) – white sugar, $531.6/t +$9.9 Russia’s south (Russian Ag) ($1 = 74.9566 roubles).
