Corn prices rose 2.15%.
Wheat gains have been even better, as Chicago SRW rallied 2.32%, Kansas City HRW climbed 3.96%, and MGEX HRS jumped 3.15%.
Soybeans, in contrast, failed to follow suit retreating 0.03% lower.
The rest of the soy complex was also weaker, with soymeal eroding 0.84% lower, while soyoil went home with 0.11% losses.
In Europe, grain prices rebounded slightly, after a sharp decline early in the week, while rapeseed fell in the wake of canola.
Oil prices rose, logging weekly gains after IEA predicts record demand.
The BDI fell about 1.9%, as demand waned across all vessel segments.
On Wall Street, US stock indexes ended lower, as worries about interest rates overshadowed an encouraging start to earnings reporting season.
The DXY rose by +0.54%, with the dollar recovered from an 11-1/2 month low.

Chicago corn May up 14c/bu to 666.2c/bu;
MATIF corn Jun, was up €2/t to €241.75/t;
