US WHEAT EXPORT SALES
According to the US Department of Agriculture, for the period Jan.22-28, 2021 about wheat net sales of 643,100 metric tons (MT) for 20/21 were up 69% from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for China (134,000MT), Nigeria (129,600MT, including decreases of 36,000MT), Mexico (77,100MT, including decreases of 100 MT), Indonesia (72,000MT), and the Philippines (68,600MT, including decreases of 600MT), were offset by reductions primarily for unknown destinations (31,000MT). For 21/22, net sales of 93,500MT were reported for Mexico (37,500MT), the Philippines (34,000MT), and unknown destinations (22,000MT). Exports of 498,100MT were down 2% from the previous week, but up 29% from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Nigeria (99,600MT), southkorea (77,300MT), Mexico (69,700MT), Japan (60,600MT), and the Philippines (58,300MT).
